Chris Houchens

Chris Houchens is the Online Director for all online properties of the Daily News including bgdailynews.com, the Amplifier, and Soky411.biz. He co-ordinates and manages all online content for the paper including news, advertising, special features, and web services. Chris also manages the operations for the Daily News’ monthly arts and entertainment tabloid, The Amplifier. He is responsible for the promotion and marketing of both the Amplifier and bgdailynews.com to readers and advertisers.

Chris, a Glasgow native, is a graduate of Western Kentucky University, where he earned his BA in Advertising with a minor in Marketing. While at Western, Chris worked in the ad department of the College Heights Herald and served as the Creative Director of the student ad agency, ImageWest.

Prior to coming to the Daily News, Chris worked as the Marketing Director for a local healthcare provider and as the Operations Manager of a local radio group.

In addition to working for the Daily News, Chris is a freelance marketing speaker, blogger, and writer.

He was honored by being named the Bowling Green Professional Marketing Association’s 2007 Marketer of the Year.

Chris, his wife Laura, and his son Jackson live on a farm that straddles the Warren/Barren county line.
