Dr. Patricia B. Pearson

Dr. Patricia B. Pearson of Port Charlotte, Fla., died Oct. 19, 2007, at her residence.
The Greensburg, Ind., native was born Oct. 10, 1929. She moved to Port Charlotte in 2004 from Bowling Green. Dr. Pearson, a biology professor at Western Kentucky University, retired in 1994. She received a bachelor of science degree in biology from Purdue University in Lafayette, Ind., a master’s degree in botany from Vanderbilt University in Nashville and a master’s degree in counseling from Western. She received her doctorate in education from Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind. In Bowling Green, she was active in PEO, Pierian Literary Club and was former president of Friends of the Library. After retirement, she loved to travel with her daughter and family and enjoyed nature. She especially enjoyed a close bond with her daughter and granddaughter. She was the wife of the late Carroll “Pete” Roemer Pearson of Pearson Drugs.
Funeral is at 10 a.m. Friday at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Lovers Lane chapel, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation is from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Survivors include her loving family, including a daughter, Leanne P. Littrell, director of nutrition at Peace River Regional Medical Center in Port Charlotte, and her husband, George, of Port Charlotte; a sister, Leanne Zins of Kalamazoo, Mich.; and her 8-year-old granddaughter, Alexis Carroll Pearson Littrell.
