Ronald E. Whitfield

NORTONVILLE – Ronald E. Whitfield, 64, of Madisonville died at 8:30 p.m. Sept. 6, 2007, at a Madisonville nursing home.

He was born Aug. 22, 1943. He was a retired school bus driver, an Army veteran, a member of the American Legion and a Baptist. He was a son of the late Elson S. Whitfield and Lucile Graddy Whitfield Glaysbrook, who survives.

Funeral is at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bandy Funeral Home, with burial in New Salem Cemetery. Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Military services will be by American Legion Post 6 of Madisonville, Post 2 of Earlington and Veterans of Foreign Wars of Madisonville.

Other survivors include two sons, Ronald Whitfield and his wife, Sandra, of Madisonville, and Aaron Whitfield and his wife, Jonette, of Buckhannon, W.Va.; two daughters, Rhonda Murdock of Cool Ridge, W.Va., and Rowena Bragg and her husband, David, of Oak Hill, W.Va.; six grandchildren; a brother, Harold Whitfield and his wife, Beth, of Bowling Green; two sisters, Judy Watts and her husband, Jake, of North Little Rock, Ark., and Darla Duggins of Earlington; a sister-in-law, Anna Whitfield of Madisonville; and several nieces and nephews.
