Leola A. Halstead

Leola A. Halstead, 91, of Bowling Green died at 3:49 p.m. Sept. 2, 2007, at The Medical Center.
The Hinton, W.Va., native was born Sept. 2, 1916. She was a retired bookkeeper for Gardner Buick Dealership in Charleston, W.Va., and a member of Christ Episcopal Church. She was a daughter of the late Wilbur H. Anderson and Georgia E. Michael Anderson and the wife of the late John W. Halstead. She was preceded in death by a sister; two brothers; and a grandson, Michael Carney.
Memorial service is at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 10 at Christ Episcopal Church, with burial at a later date in Tucson Memorial Parks East Lawn Cemetery in Tucson, Ariz. Cremation was chosen. J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Broadway Avenue chapel, is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Ann Carney and her husband, William, and Lynne Brown, all of Alvaton; a son, John William Halstead Jr. of Dunbar, W.Va.; a brother, Robert Anderson of Chillicothe, Ohio; five grandchildren, David Brown and his wife, Christina, Paul Carney and his wife, Penny, Peter Brown and his wife, Pilar, Mark Halstead and his wife, Amy, and Kevin Halstead; three great-grandchildren, Kris and Megan Brown and Chase Carney; two great-great-grandchildren, Aiden and Westin Brown; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
