Doris Jean McPeak Morehead, 70, of Bowling Green died at 1:45 p.m. Aug. 30, 2007, at her residence.

The Bowling Green native was a retired construction/engineer clerk for BellSouth and a graduate of Alvaton High School. She was a member of Providence Knob Baptist Church, Telephone Pioneers of America and Goshen Chapter No. 198 Order of the Eastern Star. She was a daughter of the late L. Raymond Goodbread and A. Martine Harmon Goodbread. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Billy Carlisle McPeak; and a brother, James Goodbread.

Funeral is at 11 a.m. Saturday at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home, with burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and begins at 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. An Eastern Star service is at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice of Southern Kentucky or the Eastern Star Home in Louisville.

Survivors include her husband, Carson Morehead; a son, Carl McPeak and his wife, Lisa, of Collierville, Tenn.; a daughter, Martie McPeak Williams and her husband, Barry, of Owensboro; a sister, Rufine G. Gourley of Hendersonville, Tenn.; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two nieces; and two nephews.
