Chester Ward

GLASGOW – Chester Ward, 96, of Glasgow died Aug. 13, 2007, at a Glasgow nursing home.

The Barren County native was a former auto body repairman for Pedigo Pontiac in Glasgow and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a member of the local amateur radio club and enjoyed collecting guns, knives and coins. He was a son of the late W.S. Ward and Lucy Ann Nichols Ward. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Otto, Earl, Bruce and Bill Ward; and four sisters, Lucy May Ebert, Christine Nordstrom, Gladys Palmore and Ruby Ward.

Funeral is at 10 a.m. Thursday at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, with burial in Bowles Cemetery. Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife of 75 years, Laverne Poore Ward; and several nieces and nephews.
