€The 42nd annual Ice Cream Social will be from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Aug. 4 at St. Helen Catholic Church Parish Center, 460 Calvary Drive in Glasgow. Barbecue, hot dogs and bratwurst meals, and homemade ice cream will be available. Kid’s games and bingo will be from noon to 6 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Silent auction will be until 8:45 p.m. There will also be a bake sale and face painting. Vann Health Care will offer blood pressure and glucose checks and will answer medical and insurance questions. Arts and crafts booth will be until dark. Barren River Cloggers will perform at 6 p.m. BRAWA puppies, dogs, cats and kittens will be up for adoption from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Booth spaces are still available for arts and crafts. €First Baptist Church of Woodburn’s dedication services for its new sanctuary has been rescheduled for 1:30 p.m. Aug. 5. Sunday school will begin at 8:45 a.m. and the morning worship service will begin at 9:45 a.m. The Rev. William Dickerson of Louisville will be the guest speaker for the morning service. The Rev. €Sugar Grove United Methodist Church will have a homemade ice cream supper from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the church on Hwy. 1083, sponsored by Sugar Grove United Methodist Women. All-you-can-eat ice cream and cake is $3 and a full meal is $6. The full meal will include a hamburger or hot dog, baked beans, slaw, drink and all-you-can-eat ice cream and cake. Children under 10 will be half price. All proceeds will go to local missions and missions around the world.

€Bowling Green Christian Church will host Kachow Summer Spectacular, a community-wide outreach event for the whole family at 6 p.m. today. There will be refreshments, live music, a special appearance by WKU’s Big Red and a car and bike expo. The church campus is at 1912 Smallhouse Road at Ridgecrest Way. €Oakland Christian Church will have a worship service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Those who attended White Mills Christian Service Camp can reflect on lessons and experiences learned at the camp. Shelby Greer will lead the session. To celebrate back to school, pizza will be served afterward. There will also be games, gifts, school supplies and a 10-foot banana split.
