MEDINA, N.Y. – Daniel J. Kwiatkowski, 21, of Bowling Green, Ky., formerly of Medina, died April 16, 2007, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn., as a result of injuries suffered in a work-related accident.

The Lockport native was born April 21, 1985. He was a son of Gregory and Lynn Knoop Kwiatkowski of Bowling Green, who survive. He was a 2003 graduate of Medina High School and played on the Junior Varsity and Varsity Medina Mustang football teams. He also played Loyal football and was a member of the Hall of Fame. Following graduation, he served in the Air Force for two years. He was employed by Fruit of the Loom in Bowling Green. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Chester and Irene Kwiatkowski; and maternal grandfathers, Robert Knoop Jr. and Donald Snedeker.

A Mass of Christian Burial is at 10 a.m. EDT Saturday, his birthday, at Sacred Heart Church, with burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation is from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. EDT today at Cooper Funeral Home. Military honors will be accorded at graveside by members of Lincoln Post No. 1483, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Butts-Clark Post No. 204, American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans.

A memorial service is planned for a later date in Bowling Green.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Heart Association.

Other survivors include two sisters, Melissa Kwiatkowski and Carlos Williams of Lockport and Rebecca Sanders and her husband, Joshua, of Medina; two nieces, Liana Williams and Mashiah Williams; two nephews, Cameron Kwiatkowski and Carlos Williams; his maternal grandmother, Irene Snedeker of Middleport; his girlfriend, Tonja Cline; and many loving family members, aunts, uncles and cousins.
