Mike Alexieff has been in journalism for the past 21 years. He worked for newspapers in Texas and Arizona before moving to the Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer as city editor in 1997. He joined the Daily News as managing editor in May 2001. With a staff of 23, he is responsible for all non-advertising content of the newspaper.
A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Alexieff is a member of the Kentucky Press Association board of directors and is chairman of the association’s news/editorial division.

Since moving to Bowling Green, Alexieff has been a member of the Bowling Green Police Department’s Citizens Advisory Committee, a member of the United Way of Southcentral Kentucky allocation committee and an adjunct instructor of journalism at Western Kentucky University.
He and his wife of nearly 11 years, Angie, have two children, 5-year-old Grace and 6-year-old Stephen.
