Police news: BG woman charged with trafficking near school

Ashley Nicole Price, 20, of 1979 Cross Willows Court was arrested Tuesday and charged with two counts of trafficking a controlled substances within 1,000 yards of a school, according to a Bowling Green Police Department report.

Price was involved in a non-injury traffic accident at Scottsville Road and Campbell Lane and almost fell to the ground during a field sobriety test.

A bottle of suspected Xanax pills fell from Price’s jacket. She admitted the pills were for sale and that she took 12 of them several hours earlier, according to the report.

Price, who also is charged with driving under the influence, is in Warren County Regional Jail on a $15,000 cash bond.

Drug possession – Kentucky State Police arrested two people and charged them each with possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and trafficking marijuana, and three counts of second-degree endangerment to children.

State police assisted the Edmonson County Social Services Office after an anonymous tip was received about suspected drugs in the home at the 300 block of Oak Tree Lane in Edmonson, where several children were known to reside.

Anna Sanders, 33, is in the Hart County Detention Center; no bond information for her was available. Ronald Smith, 29, is in the Grayson County Detention Center on a $15,000 cash bond. Ronald Smith also faces a charge of tampering with physical evidence.

Theft – A firefighter at the Woodburn Volunteer Fire Department said a bag loaded with firefighting gear was stolen from the bed of his truck last week at the 100 block of Old Morgantown Road.

The equipment, which included a uniform, ID card, pants and helmet, is valued at more than $1,500, according to a city police report.

Theft – A Scottsville man told police his 1993 red Dodge Caravan, valued at $1,400, was stolen Tuesday night from the parking lot of Bowling Green Towers.

He told police he left the key in the ignition and the door unlocked. An electric wheelchair, valued at $6,000, was in the rear of the van, according to Bowling Green police. The vehicle had Kentucky tag 211BTM.
