Predators skate past Edmonton

EDMONTON, Alberta – Paul Kariya had three assists and the Nashville Predators beat Edmonton 5-3 Wednesday night to stop the Oilers’ six-game home winning streak.

Vernon Fiddler, Shea Weber, Ryan Suter, Scottie Upshall and David Legwand scored for the Predators, who have won six consecutive road games and four straight overall. Chris Mason made 22 saves.

Ales Hemsky, Ryan Smyth and Marc-Andre Bergeron had goals for the Oilers (7-5), who failed to set a team record for best home start. The 1985 and 1986 Oilers teams also started 6-0 but couldn’t get to seven.

Nashville (8-3-1) has won the first three of a five-game road trip.
