James John Compton, 86, of Bowling Green died Oct. 22, 2006, at Greenview Regional Hospital.
The Campbellsville native was employed by Stern & Foster Manufacturing and was an Army veteran. He was a son of the late Robert Compton and Hattie Vester Compton and the husband of the late Helen Grider Compton. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry and Marshal Compton; and three sisters, Liddy Cowle, Ethel Alexander and Minnie Compton.
Funeral is at noon EST today at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church in Cincinnati, where he was a member, with burial in Graceland Memorial Gardens in Milford, Ohio. House of Glover in Cincinnati is in charge of arrangements. Burnam & Son Mortuary is in charge of local arrangements.
Survivors include a niece, Becky Baker of Bowling Green; three sisters, Pauline Staten of Burkesville, Betsy Williams of Sonora and Anna Shively of Greensburg; and a brother, Carl Compton of Summersville.
