Gladys Potter

Gladys Potter, 98, of Bowling Green died Sept. 30, 2006, at a Woodburn nursing home.
She was a retired housekeeper and a member of Richpond First Baptist Church, where she served the Sunday school, Usher Board and Mother Board, and was the oldest member of the church. She was a daughter of the late Fint H. Potter and Hattie Pearl Johns Potter. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Edna Potter Viers, Thelma C. Hunter, Louise Potter Hunter and Lassie B. Potter-Russell; and two brothers, H.C. and Talmadge Potter.
Funeral is at 11 am. Thursday at Richpond First Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Burnam & Son Mortuary and from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Richpond First Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
Survivors include nine sisters, Olivia Potter-Funderburk, Elizabeth Potter Smith, Barbara James and Sue Davidson, all of Rockfield, Rachel Butts and her husband, Selvin, and Doris Whitlow, all of Bowling Green, Bertha Coleman of Lexington, Faye Ellis and her husband, Wallace, of Rochester, N.Y., and Fredricka Potter of Woodburn; five brothers, Norman H. Potter of Rockfield, Fint “Pete” Potter Jr. and Ronald Potter and his wife, Ann, all of Bowling Green, and Raymond and Gyles Potter, both of Woodburn; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
