GLASGOW – George Lee “Junie” Gilliam, 71, of Glasgow died Sept. 23, 2006, at his home.
The Nashville native was a retired plumber employed by Plumbers Local 107. He enjoyed riding horses and was an avid guitar player. He played with several country music bands around the Nashville area. He was a son of the late George and Mae Gilliam. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Joseph Gilliam; and two brothers, Earl Patterson and Gordon Patterson.
Funeral is at 11 a.m. Wednesday at A.F. Crow & on Funeral Home, with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Evna Hill Gilliam; two sons, Mike Gilliam and his wife, Trish, and Steve Gilliam and his wife, Jeanette, of Louisville; two daughters, Debra Sower and her husband, Lee, of Louisville and Stephanie Hitzner and her husband, Adam, of Decatur, Ill.; a brother, Roger Dyer and his wife, Angie, of Illinois; three sisters, Edna Bagley and her husband, Larry, of Tennessee and Linda Manuel and her husband, Jim, and Pam Whessinger and her husband, Pete, all of Illinois; 15 grandchildren, including Tim Guess of Glasgow; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
