Phillip H. ‘Sparky’ Davis

Phillip H. &#8220Sparky” Davis, 55, of Smiths Grove died at 1:45 p.m. Aug. 30, 2006, at Veterans Administrative Medical Center-York in Murfreesboro, Tenn.

The Bowling Green native was an automobile mechanic and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served in Vietnam.

He was a son of the late Harvey Clem Davis and Pauline Grimes Jackson of Smiths Grove, who survives. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Ray Davis; and his stepfather, Walter Jackson.

Service of remembrance is at 2 p.m. Saturday at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home. Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Graveside service with military honors is at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Brock A. Beery Veterans Memorial Plaza in Fairview Cemetery.

Survivors include a son, Bryan Michael Davis-Martin of St. Joseph, Mo.; a half-brother, Gary Walter Jackson and his wife, Shelia, of Smiths Grove; a half-sister, Angela Ann Russell and her husband, Frank, of Smiths Grove; two aunts, Marie Flora and Elizabeth Ann Mimms, both of Bowling Green; eight grandchildren, Alyssa Mercedes Hilton of Belton, Mo., Ryan Scott Martin, Amanda Lee Martin, Brandon Michael Martin, John David Martin, Amber Kay Martin, Dillan Michael Palmer and Hayley Michele Palmer, all of St. Joseph; and a great-grandchild, Trinity Mae Martin of St. Joseph.
