A Bowling Green woman is in jail after being accused of shooting a man Monday night in Warren County.
Chanda Wells, 32, is charged with first-degree assault after the shooting of Keith Hendrick at 2210 Boyce-Fairview Road, according to a report from the Kentucky State Police.
Hendrick was taken to The Medical Center where he remains in the intensive care unit, according to state police.
Wells was also charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance.
The investigation in the case is ongoing.
Wells is being held at the Warren County Regional Jail without bond.
An Allen County resident stopped an attempted home invasion by two men who came to his house wearing masks and carrying shotguns, according to report from the Kentucky State Police.
The men were at the house at about 3:15 a.m. today in the 3400 block of U.S. 231. The resident came to the door with his own gun and was able to take away a shotgun from one of the suspects, according to a state police report. The resident pointed his gun at the suspects, who fled in a small blue or black pickup.
They were last seen driving north on Old Bowling Green Road, according to the report.

Accident – Richard Wilkerson Jr., 23, of Nashville, was taken by air ambulance to the University of Louisville Hospital after a crash Monday on Interstate 65 in Barren County.
Wilkerson was traveling north when the vehicle crossed the road into southbound traffic, according to a report from the Kentucky State Police. Wilkerson’s vehicle first hit a van driven by Aimee Abney, 34, of Clarkston, Mich.
Her vehicle hit a rock wall on the right side of the roadway, according to the report.
Wilkerson’s vehicle also collided with a vehicle driven by William Woods, 56, of Bowling Green. This crash caused Wilkerson’s vehicle to catch fire, according to the report. All three drivers were wearing seat belts when the incident occurred. Abney and Woods weren’t injured.
Activity report – Kentucky State Police in Bowing Green issued a total of 2,266 citations in July, including 986 for speeding, 137 for no seat belt and 10 for no child restraint.
The post arrested 60 people for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol and investigated four fatal accidents. Detectives and troopers investigated 1,574 complaints, opened 111 criminal cases and made 329 criminal arrests.
Kentucky State Police Post 3 includes Warren, Barren, Hart, Edmonson, Logan, Allen, Butler and Simpson counties.
Burglary – Dental equipment, computer equipment and a revolver were stolen Saturday or Sunday from Ransdell and Ransdell General Dentistry at 2601 Nashville Road, according to a Bowling Green Police Department report.
A window to the business was pried open, with a lawn chair below it, and an inside door was kicked in. The inside of the business was ransacked and littered with used rubber gloves. Total losses and damage is estimated at $59,284.
Chase – Deputy John Hancock from the Simpson County Sheriff’s Department was involved in a 15-minute chase that reached speeds of up to 120 mph Monday and extended into Tennessee.
Hancock was chasing Randall R. Fraley, 35, David Wayne Johnson, 27, and Thomas Woodrow Cherry, 43, who had escaped that day from the Marion County Adjustment Center.
The three will be charged in Simpson County with first-degree fleeing and evading and wanton endangerment along with numerous traffic offenses, according to a sheriff’s department report.
Fraley, Johnson and Cherry were apprehended in Sumner County, Tenn. near Millersville. They are being held at the Sumner County Jail awaiting transport to Kentucky, according to the report.
Robbery – A 40-year-old Bowling Green man told city police he was hit twice in the back of the head Monday night while sitting on his porch in the 100 block of Butler Way.
While the man was on the ground $100 was stolen from his pocket, according to a city police report.
Theft – A gold ring with a diamond cluster, valued at $300, was stolen Sunday from a room at Baymont Inn at 165 Three Springs Road, according to a city police report.
Theft – A laptop computer, valued at $1,300, was stolen sometime Saturday from a residence in the 1900 block of Creason Street, according to a city police report.
Theft – A TV and DVD/videocassette recorder combination, valued at $1,167, was stolen sometime between 4 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. Friday from a residence in the 1300 block of Adams Street, according to a city police report.
Theft – A theft was reported Saturday in the 400 block of Memphis Junction Road, according to a Warren County Sheriff’s Department report. Items stolen from a vehicle include a Bostch finish air nailer, electrical box, Makita circular saw, DeWalt jig saw, Skil compound miter saw, drill bit kit, tool belt and several other items, altogether valued at $4,475, according to the report.
