Johnny M. Bowling, 82, of Bowling Green died at 9:46 a.m. June 27, 2006, at The Medical Center.

The Perry County native was a former coal miner, was self-employed with Bowling and Son Roofing and Remodeling Co., and was a World War II veteran. He was a son of the late Brack Bowling and Ellajean Begley Bowling. He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Funeral is at 1 p.m. Saturday at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Broadway Avenue chapel, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation begins at 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his former wife, Sandy Bowling, of Bowling Green; five sons, Johnny Bowling Jr., and his wife, Rayma, of Florida, Lonnie Bowling and his wife, Ruth Anne, Shawn Bowling and his wife, Susie, and Jeremy Bowling and his wife, Erica, all of Bowling Green, and Tracie Dale Reeder of Smiths Grove; three daughters, Brenda Sue McCartin and her husband, Dave, of New Albany, Ind., and Stacy Marie Blair and Brenda Kaye Bowling, all of Bowling Green; 26 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
