Stephen Michael Slaughterbeck, M.D., 55, of Bowling Green died at 9:37 a.m. June 10, 2006, at The Medical Center.
He was a staff member and partner with Graves Gilbert Clinic from 1990-present. He had a dermatology and dermatologic surgery private practice in Bowling Green from 1987-present. He was also a medical staff member of The Medical Center in Bowling Green from 1987-present. He previously had a private dermatology and dermatologic surgery in Bismarck, N.D., and Tulare, Calif. He was assistant professor of dermatology at University of North Dakota from June 1981-Dec. 1983. Dr. Slaughterbeck was a member of American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and American Academic of Dermatology (1984). He received licensure in Missouri and Kentucky.
He received a bachelor of arts degree from Washington University in St. Louis in 1973, graduating magna cum laude. He wrote a paper entitled “Growth Studies of Hildenbrandia Ruvularis, a Blue-Green Algae,” in 1973. He graduated from University of Missouri-Columbia Medical School in Columbia, Mo., in 1977 and his honors included a letter of accommodation for dermatology rotation. Dr. Slaughterbeck did his flexible internship at Methodist Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., from 1977-1978 and his residency at University of Missouri in Columbia, Mo., in the dermatology department from 1978-1981. He received certification from the National Board of Medical Examiners on July 1, 1978, and was board certified in dermatology in 1984.
He was a son of the late Jack Slaughterbeck and Juanita Burleyson Slaughterbeck.
Funeral is at 1 p.m. Thursday at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Lovers Lane chapel, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Ellen Eichemier Slaughterbeck; two daughters, Megan Nicole Slaughterbeck and Tara Danielle Slaughterbeck, both of Bowling Green; and a sister, Elizabeth Merritt of Columbia, Mo.
