Dr. Joseph C. Luckett

RUSSELLVILLE – Dr. Joseph C. Luckett, 85, of Russellville died May 21, 2006, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

The Lebanon native was a veterinarian at Logan County Animal Clinic and a World War II veteran. He was a past president of the Kentucky Veterinary Medical Association and the Kentucky Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners. He was KVMA Veterinarian of the Year in 1976, a 30-year member of the Rotary Club, a longtime active member and leader of the Kentucky Beef Cattleman’s Association and a member of the board of First Southern National Bank. He served as chairman of the board of Citizens National Bank and was a member of Knights of Columbus. He was a son of the late Henry Luckett and Effie Buckman Luckett and the husband of the late Roberta Sanderson Luckett.

Funeral is at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where he was a member, with burial in Russellville Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sanders Funeral Home. Rosary is at 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Vincent de Paul Society, in memory of Joseph Luckett, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church or at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Bown Luckett; three sons, Joseph C. Luckett II of Daytona Beach, Fla., Peter M. Luckett and his wife, Karissa, of Dallas and James A. Luckett and his wife, Lois, of Louisville; a daughter, Marcia K. DeArmond of Conyers, Ga.; four stepdaughters, Connie Sue Corbin and her husband, Scott, of Elgin, Ill., Kimberlie Ann Wright and her husband, Danny, and Deborah Lynn Kondracki and her husband, David, all of Russellville, and Elizabeth Ann Hiatt of Garland, Texas; 15 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
