&#8220That way if the players have something else to do on Saturday, they should be finished in plenty of time,” tournament organizer Ernie Small said. &#8220Hopefully that won’t keep anyone away.”

The tournament is open to any high school-aged student.

The entry fee is $5 and includes a T-shirt and a golf disc.

&#8220You can’t even go out and buy a disc for $5,” Small said. &#8220We just really want to get young people involved in the sport and hope anyone interested will come out, because this event is really good for players of all skill levels.”

Small said disc golf clubs already exist at Bowling Green and Franklin-Simpson high schools, and he expects several students from each of those schools.

Last year, Greenwood had several players in the tournament and came away with the school title.

&#8220Eventually, I’d like to see us get a club in each of the four local high schools,” Small said.

Kevin Rarick, a local home-schooled student, won last year’s individual championship.
