William Douglas James, 72, of Bowling Green died at 7:39 p.m. May 1, 2006, at The Medical Center.
The Warren County native was a real estate broker and auctioneer for 40 years. He was a member of Oak Forrest Baptist Church and attended Hillvue Heights Baptist Church. He was a volunteer for Crosswinds Golf Course at Hartland and a member of the gospel group “The Happy Rhythm Boys” for many years. He was a son of the late Roland James and Mabel Sledge James.
Funeral is at 3 p.m. Thursday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green chapel, with burial in Hayes Cemetery. Visitation is from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to “The Big Dream” Building Fund at Hillvue Heights Baptist Church, 3219 Nashville Road, Bowling Green, KY 42101.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Patricia “Pat” Smith James; two daughters, Cindy James of Woodstock, Ga., and Traci Burke and her husband, Michael, of Roswell, Ga.; a son, Mark James and his wife, Jacki, of Smiths Grove; a sister, Beverly Goodman and her husband, Don, of Bowling Green; seven grandchildren, Joshua, Tiffany, Dustin and Jordan James, Madison Poulter and Sophia and Liam Burke; a niece, Krissy Wilkinson of Alvaton; and a nephew, Anthony Goodman of Houston.
