William Douglas James, 72, of Bowling Green died at 7:39 p.m. May 1, 2006, at The Medical Center.

The Warren County native was a real estate broker and auctioneer for 40 years. He was a member of Oak Forrest Baptist Church and attended Hillvue Heights Baptist Church. He was a volunteer for Crosswinds Golf Course at Hartland and a member of the gospel group &#8220The Happy Rhythm Boys” for many years. He was a son of the late Roland James and Mabel Sledge James.

Funeral is at 3 p.m. Thursday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green chapel, with burial in Hayes Cemetery. Visitation is from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to &#8220The Big Dream” Building Fund at Hillvue Heights Baptist Church, 3219 Nashville Road, Bowling Green, KY 42101.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Patricia &#8220Pat” Smith James; two daughters, Cindy James of Woodstock, Ga., and Traci Burke and her husband, Michael, of Roswell, Ga.; a son, Mark James and his wife, Jacki, of Smiths Grove; a sister, Beverly Goodman and her husband, Don, of Bowling Green; seven grandchildren, Joshua, Tiffany, Dustin and Jordan James, Madison Poulter and Sophia and Liam Burke; a niece, Krissy Wilkinson of Alvaton; and a nephew, Anthony Goodman of Houston.
