Nellie &#8220Nell” J. Orr, 99, of Bowling Green died at 11:05 a.m. April 25, 2006, at The Medical Center.

The Owen County native was a retired telephone operator for South Central Bell. She was a member of Kerr Memorial United Methodist Church, now known as Faith United Methodist Church, Rebekah Lodge, Telephone Pioneers, Business Professional Women’s Club and CWA Local Union 3301. She was a daughter of the late Ruben Johnson and Hattie Reynolds Johnson and the wife of the late Frank L. &#8220Red” Orr. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Vernon, Clyde, Cecil and Boyd Johnson.

Graveside service is at 2 p.m. EST Sunday at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Owenton. Visitation is from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Broadway Avenue chapel.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions in her memory to Faith United Methodist Church, 380 Veterans Memorial Lane, Bowling Green, KY 42101.

Survivors include a great-niece and caregiver, Carol Lawson and her husband, Dee, of Bowling Green; nieces and nephews, Cecil Johnson Jr. and his wife, Etheline, of Carrollton, Sharon Dillard and her husband, Eddie, of Bowling Green, Richard Johnson and his wife, Linda, of Worthville and Charles Johnson and his wife, Angie, of Smiths Grove; a sister-in-law, Bertha Orr of Owenton; great-nieces and great-nephews, Joyce Hatcher of Bowling Green and Michael Darbro and his wife, Kathy, of Mount Washington; and several great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, great-great-great-nieces and great-great-great-nephews.
