Two Arkansas women are accused of shoplifting Sunday from KMart on Scottsville Road, but only one was charged.
Charlotte Reek, 26, of Pine Bluff, Ark., and another woman are accused of taking items worth more than $300, according to a Bowling Green Police Department report. The other woman told a KMart employee she would get a receipt for items from her car, but never returned and hasn’t been found by police.
The two are accused of packing the items – including children’s pajamas, socks and baby wash – into a waste basket. They paid for a few items and told the cashier the remaining items were “taken care of already,” before exiting the store, according to the report.
Reek is in the Warren County Regional Jail on a $2,500 bond.
Arrest – Wayne Crawford, 38, of Bowling Green was charged with criminal mischief Sunday after a police dog found him in woods near Pioneer Drive.
A Houchens employee witnessed a man, later identified as Crawford, breaking into a vending machine with a crowbar before he fled in a vehicle. A few hours later, police received a similar complaint of attempted theft from a vending machine on Pioneer Drive.
Damage to the machine exceeded $1,000.
Crawford was in Warren County Regional Jail without bond.
Arrest – Renell Clark, 22, of Bowling Green was charged Saturday afternoon with attempted burglary. Clark was observed by police trying to pick a front door of a residence on Lovers Lane with a knife, according to the report.
Clark is in Warren County Regional Jail on a $2,000 bond.
Vandalism – A 1997 Jeep Wrangler parked at 110 Plain Ave. was vandalized between Thursday and Sunday. The passenger side window was cut and the glove box and the stereo were damaged, causing about $500 in damage.
