Morgantown man charged in fatal accident

The driver of a vehicle involved in a fatal accident on Morgantown Road was charged with driving under the influence, second offense.
Gavin Parker, 23, of Morgantown was driving a 1994 Honda Accord when he failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle went into a ravine, where it overturned several times, according to the report from Kentucky State Police in Bowling Green.
Passenger Jamie Miller, 21, of Morgantown was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, according to a report. The investigation is ongoing.
Larry Glenn Osborne II, 22, 1312 Sun Way, was charged Monday with first-degree robbery at McDonald’s at 3080 Scottsville Road.
Osborne allegedly robbed Baymont Inn at 165 Three Springs Road on Feb. 7 at gunpoint, according to a Bowling Green Police Department report. Police received a tip that Osborne had said he needed rent money and was going to Baymont Inn.
When interviewed, Osborne admitted to owning a gun and a jacket like the one worn during the robbery, according to a police report.
Osborne is in the Warren County Regional Jail on a $25,000 bond.
Accident – A commercial vehicle accident Monday closed U.S. 68 in Edmonton for two hours, according to a Kentucky Department of Highways report.
The closure was reported at 10:21 a.m. between the 9- and 10-mile markers, according to a report.
Burglary – Planet Smoothie at 2020 Scottsville Road was burglarized between 7:10 p.m. Friday and 7:45 a.m. Saturday.
The rear door of the business was broken open, according to a city police report. A cash register worth $1,200 and $200 in cash was stolen.
Burglary – Someone entered a residence in the 1400 block of Collegeview Drive by breaking open a rear window Monday between 8:45 a.m. and 3:12 p.m. A video game system was stolen, according to a police report.
Total losses are estimated at $400, according to the report.
Burglary – Jewelry was stolen from a residence in the 400 block of Main Avenue between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Thursday. The stolen item is valued at $2,000, according to a report.
Burglary – A door was forced open at an apartment in the 1200 block of High Street and burglarized between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Sunday.
Stolen items included electronics and stereo equipment, according to a city police report. Stolen items and damage are estimated at $2,822.
Criminal mischief – A vehicle was damaged between 8 p.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. Friday in the 2200 block of Scottsville Road.
Damage to the tires, wheels, a radio, the dash, the back seat and the exterior is estimated at $2,300, according to a police report.
Criminal mischief – The rear of a vehicle was spray-painted between 9 p.m. Saturday and 9:15 a.m. Sunday in the 4300 block of Diddle Drive.
Damage is estimated at $1,200, according to a city police report.
Robbery – A Bowling Green man was robbed at 9:10 a.m. Sunday in the 1800 block of Loop Drive when someone entered his house, according to a police report.
The resident was attacked with a socket wrench, according to a city police report. The resident was able to get the wrench away from the subject, but the resident’s wallet was stolen.
The wallet contained $700 cash, according to a report. The robber was described as a thin, 5-foot-9 black male wearing a gray-hooded sweatshirt and possibly blue jeans.
Robbery – A Papa John’s pizza delivery driver was robbed at 12:15 a.m. Saturday in the 200 block of Glenn Court.
The man was making a delivery when he was approached by a group of males, according to a city police report. An object was stuck to the man’s back and the men took several food items from his vehicle and a pack of cigarettes.
The food and cigarettes are worth $125, according to police report.
Theft – An air conditioning unit was stolen from a house in the 200 block of West 14th Avenue between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Thursday, according a city police report. The unit is valued at $700.
