BROWNSVILLE – Joel Kevin &#8220Bubba” Madison, 49, of Brownsville died March 18, 2006, at an Edmonson County nursing home.

Known to everyone as &#8220Bubba,” he was a former radio dispatcher for the Edmonson County Sheriff’s Department and worked for years as a deliveryman for Madison’s and Marguerite’s Flowers, where his happy, joking attitude made many friends. He was a member of the Madison Brothers Quartet and had sung at hundreds of funerals. He also was a member of Washington Meredith Masonic Lodge No. 355 F&AM, Brownsville Odd Fellows Lodge No. 164 F.L.T., and Poplar Spring United Baptist Church. He was a son of the late Everette and Lucille Vincent Madison.

Funeral is at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Patton Funeral Home, Brownsville chapel, with burial in Poplar Spring Church Cemetery. Masonic service is at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Visitation is from noon to 9 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Survivors include three sisters, Gertie Minyard and her husband, Ed, of Bee Spring, Martha Nell York and her husband, Paul, of Brownsville and Sherry Madison and her companion, Jimmy Minton, of Bowling Green; seven brothers, Gerald Madison and his wife, Alice, of Macon, Ga., Charles Madison and his wife, Ruby, of Brownsville, the Rev. Elzie Madison and his wife, Dot, of Louisville, John G. Madison and his wife, Carla, of Brownsville, Ray Madison and his wife, Nancy, of Louisville, Anthony Madison and his wife, Pam, of Brownsville, and David K. Madison and his wife, Sandy, of Brownsville; several nieces and nephews; and his extended family at Edmonson Health Care.
