Lana R. Cox

Lana Ruth Cox, 76, of Bowling Green died at 1:36 p.m. March 3, 2006, at her home.

The Warren County native was a longtime employee of Charles M. Moore Insurance, a member of the First Baptist Church and a charter member of the Southern Kentucky Association of Insurance Women, where she served as the association’s first president. She was a daughter of the late Rupert F. Cox and Minnie Ruth Cox. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Rupert H., Garland L. and Earl B. Cox.

Funeral is at 10 a.m. Monday at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Broadway Avenue chapel, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation is from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the charity of one’s choice.

Survivors include a brother, Richard T. Cox and his wife, Corine, of Bowling Green; a sister, Deane C. Faulkner of North Carolina; her guardian children, Earl Cox of Nashville, Carol Franklin and her husband, Harvie, of Goodlettsville, Tenn., Elaine Bishop and her husband, B.J., of Breckinridge County and Rhonda Holl of Miramar Beach, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Cox of Macon, Ga.; three nieces, Harolyn Mullenaux of South Carolina and Cynthia Lloyd and Melody Jansen, both of Macon, Ga.; two nephews, Glen and Adrian Faulkner, both of North Carolina; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
