  • Church Women United World Day of Prayer is Saturday at Seventh Street Baptist Church, 1101 Fair St. Fellowship time is at 10 a.m. and the service is at 11 a.m. Child care is provided.
  • The &#8220Celebrate Your Marriage” conference with Jay and Laura Laffoon is March 10 and 11 at Eastwood Baptist Church, 500 Eastwood St. The conference is designed for couples of all ages. Childcare is provided. To register or for more information, call the church office at 842-7867.
  • First Baptist Church has a yard sale from 7 a.m. to noon March 11 at First Baptist Church Recreation Center, 621 East 12th Ave. This is a fundraiser for a summer mission trip.

  • &#8220Women Reaching Women: Beginning and Building a Growing Women’s Ministry,” is from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. April 1 at Southern Heights Baptist Church in Russellville. The cost is $35 per person, and includes a continental breakfast, snacks, a boxed lunch and all conference materials. Featured speakers are Deb Douglas (minister to women in Louisiana), Christina Crawley (LifeWay Christian Resources) and Karen Finke (Women’s Ministry Leader in Missouri).   • Rockfield United Methodist Church, 682 Richpond-Rockfield Road, has a pancake breakfast from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. March 11. The cost is $3 for all-you-can-eat.
  • Lemuel Palmer speaks at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Oakland Christian Church. Mr. Palmer has been a member of the church for 28 years, where he’s served as a deacon and an elder. He’s been a Pioneer Evangelism team leader for seven different teams on mission trips to Brazil to construct churches and was the team leader for a mission trip to Panama. He and his wife, Elissa, reside in Warren County. Pizza will be served in the basement after the service.
  • Bro. Don Duvall preaches his initial sermon at 6 p.m. Sunday at Seventh Street Baptist Church, 1101 Fair St.
  • Oakland Mount Zion Baptist Church celebrates its pastor’s 20th anniversary Sunday. Minister Marti Gatewood is the morning speaker. The Rev. Broderick Gatewood and members of Cedar Grove Baptist Church of Olmstead are the afternoon guests. Lunch will be served. The Rev. Donald Valentine is pastor.
  • Loving Springs Baptist Church, 1840 Glasgow-Park City Road in Glasgow, has a Dedication Celebration on March 11 and 12. Open house and tours are from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. March 11, with an appreciation ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Morning worship is at 11 a.m. March 12, with afternoon worship at 3 p.m. The Rev.   • Seventh Street Baptist Church, 1101 Fair St., has a Youth Ministry workshop from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 11. Also, Don Duvall, a member of Seventh Street Baptist Church, is preaching his first sermon at 6 p.m. Sunday.

  • First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 11th Avenue and State Street, has a unique service once a month called St. Thomas Mass. The next one is at 6:30 p.m. March 19. There is a dedication of a new labyrinth in the fellowship hall at 3 p.m. March 12. A labyrinth is a unique tool for prayer and meditation. Instructional use of the labyrinth is from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays for the next few weeks.
  • 13th District AME Work Day Willie Gossom Missionary Society has a community-wide dinner and health fair from 11 am. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Taylor Chapel AME Church, 503 Clay St., where the Rev. William H. Hardy is pastor. Volunteers are needed to deliver dinners to the sick and shut-in.
  • Christ Assembly Church, 506 Glen Lily Road, has Sunday worship service at 11:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.; Sunday school classes for all ages at 10 a.m.; Wednesday evening prayer service and Bible teaching at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday evening service at 7:30 p.m., except for the fourth Saturday evening.
