Lera M. Jones

Lera M. Jones, 87, of Bowling Green died at 7 p.m. Jan. 11, 2006, at a Bowling Green nursing home.
The Scottsville native was a retired barber, a member of State Street United Methodist Church, a volunteer for The Salvation Army, helped start Wesley Chapel and Angel Temple churches and had a jail ministry for more than 25 years. She was a daughter of the late Ed Napier and Priscilla Miller Napier. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Floyd Jones; and a son, Michael Edward Jones.
Funeral is at 1 p.m. today at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Lovers Lane chapel, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation is in progress until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Survivors include a son, Larry Jones and his wife, Frances, of Oklahoma City; a daughter-in-law, Pat Jones of Plant City, Fla.; a granddaughter, Larri Sue Jones; two grandsons, Allen Jones and Baron Jones and his wife, Kiku; two great-grandsons, Michael and Matthew Jones; a sister, Reba Pearson of Lafayette, Tenn.; and a brother, Corbin Napier of Allen County.
