Alvis W. Gerald

TOMPKINSVILLE – Alvis Wayne Gerald, 53, of Summer Shade died Oct. 29, 2005, at his residence.

The Metcalfe County native was a farmer and served as a magistrate of Monroe County Fiscal Court from 1990-94. He was a son of the late Charles Ray Gerald and Mary Inez Garmon Gerald.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Strode Funeral Home, with burial in Monroe County Memorial Lawn. Visitation is in progress until 9 p.m. today and will begin at 6 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Heart Association.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Burgess Gerald; a son, Gary Gerald and his wife, Lisa, of Summer Shade; a sister, Janice Spence of Mount Vernon, Ill.; three brothers, Jimmy R. Gerald of Tompkinsville, Jackie M. Gerald of Summer Shade and Danny Gerald of Indianapolis; and a grandchild, Kayla Gerald of Summer Shade.
