Published 12:00 am Thursday, September 29, 2005

Regina Newell has given herself completely to a community she loves. On any given day, she can be seen escorting children to a Capitol Arts Center play, guiding tours at Riverview at Hobson Grove, translating a musical for the visually impaired or acting in a Fountain Square Players performance.

She has an ongoing relationship with Kentuckiana Girl Scout Council, the Kentucky Museum, the Kentucky Library, the Medical Auxiliary and Lost River Cave.

Her work at the Capitol Arts Center began as a founding volunteer before the Capitol actually existed. Now, she serves on the Regional Performing Arts Task Force as it works for a new, larger facility.

Is it any wonder that this community joins in honoring this animated and energetic person for her zealous volunteerism and achievements in public service?
