As district ombudsman for the Barren River Long Term Care Ombudsman Program, Ruth Morgan represents the interests of the elderly in nursing homes. She receives and investigates complaints made by nursing home residents and works for their resolution.

Besides training volunteers, she organizes the annual Resident Conference, has published a community resource guide, writes a newsletter and a monthly column for the newspaper.

Ruth is currently the Chairperson for The National Association of Long Term Care Ombudsman. She is an outstanding public servant and advocate and helps seniors as well as the mentally retarded and mentally ill in nursing homes.

It’s through the help of folks like Ruth Morgan that nursing home residents can hope to enjoy a better quality of life.
