At the age of 12, Jessika Judd of Bonnieville asked the director of nursing at Caverna Memorial Hospital if she could do volunteer work there. She was given the opportunity and, since then, has started a junior volunteer program at the hospital that has given many area teens experience in the medical field.

She now trains new members and encourages young people to volunteer.

Jessika has logged more than 3,000 hours at the hospital and often can be found reading to patients, holding their hands, talking to them and getting them blankets, pillows and ice.

She has been invaluable to the nursing staff and has worked throughout the hospital – even in ER and labor and delivery.

Although Jessika is only 15 years old, she has touched many lives and has shown remarkable dedication to helping others.
