FRANKLIN – Michael Patrick Wilhite, 20, of Franklin died July 28, 2005 as a result of a drowning accident in Bend, Ore.
The Simpson County native was a son of Max and Allison Wilhite of Franklin. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Wayne Sr. and Loretta Burrell, and his paternal grandfather, Carl Wilhite.
He was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church and a 2002 graduate of Franklin-Simpson High School. He had just finished his sophomore year at Western Kentucky University. He played baseball at Franklin-Simpson and at Western.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Franklin First Baptist Church. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Tuesday and from 6 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and after 11:30 a.m. at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home.

Survivors include a brother, Matthew Wilhite of Franklin; a sister, Abby Wilhite of Franklin; paternal grandmother, Doris Mattingly of Lafayette, Ind., and paternal grandmother, Jean Wilhite Davis and her husband, Bill, of Franklin; maternal great-grandmother, Mary B. Davis of Gadsden, Ala.; aunts and uncles, Melissa Parsons of Scottsdale, Ariz., Gerald Wilhite of Bowling Green, Cheryl Ann Wingo and her husband, David, of Franklin, Wayne Burrell Jr. and his wife, Freda, of Franklin, Mark Burrell of Lexington Park, Md., Jennifer Moser and her husband, Fred, of Alexandria, Richard Mattingly of Key West, Fla., William Mattingly of Frisco, Texas, and Elizabeth Mattingly of Lafayette, Ind.; and his host parents, Tom and Stacey Luersen and their children, Chris, Mary Catherine and Jessie of Bend, Ore.
