ATTICA, Ind. Lorene Agnes Rigdon Smith, 80, of Attica died at 8:15 a.m. June 19, 2005, at her residence.
The Hart County, Ky., native attended school in Kentucky, but received her GED from the Tippecanoe County School Corp. She was a homemaker and a member of Old Fashioned Baptist Church in Independence. She was formerly an active bowler in womens leagues at the Shawnee Lanes in Attica. She also enjoyed helping at the Senior Center in Williamsport. She enjoyed flower gardening and was noted for her bread making. She was a daughter of the late Virgil Arthur and Laura Alice Doyle Rigdon. She was preceded in death Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Maus Funeral Home, with burial in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Serenity Hospice.
Survivors include her husband, Orville Leonard Smitty Smith; nine children, David W. Smith and his wife, Rexine, of Reedley, Calif., Mary Davis and her husband, Bob, Geraldine Bower and her husband, Amos, Sharon Miller and her fiance, Roger Vail, Glen Smith and his wife, Sheree and Robert Smith and his wife, Amy, all of Attica, Joyce Yaryan and her husband, Michael, of Lebanon, James Smith and his wife, Sandy, of Thorntown, and Christine Grimes of Lexington, N.C.; 23 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
