Mary Eleanor Hendrick Aton, 78, of Bowling Green died at 9:30 p.m. June 14, 2005, at her residence.

The Warren County native was retired from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Department of Highways. She was a former member of Forest Park Baptist Church, a member of Living Hope Baptist Church and a Sunday school teacher. She was a daughter of the late Ernest Hendrick and Eleanor Scott Hendrick. She was preceded in death Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Heart Association.

Survivors include a daughter, Lynn Cowles of Bowling Green; three grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Cowles Porter and her husband, Jason, Sarah Kathryn Cowles and James David Cowles, all of Bowling Green; and a brother, William Hendrick and his wife, Dell, of Bowling Green.
