GAMALIEL Norwood Netherton, 71, of Gamaliel died at noon May 12, 2005, at his home.

The Monroe County native was a machine operator for Eaton Axle in Glasgow for 10 years and a member of the Gamaliel Sportsman Club and Gamaliel Church of Christ. He was a son of the late Ivory Truman Netherton and Edna Pauline Cherry Netherton.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Strode Funeral Home, with burial in Gamaliel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and will begin at 7 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Jessie Pearl Deckard Netherton; two sons, Ricky L. Netherton of Gamaliel and Danny Ray Netherton of Glasgow; five brothers, Freeman Netherton of Indiana, James Avery Netherton of Columbia, Paul Wayne Netherton and Bacel Netherton, both of Glasgow, and Ivory Truman Netherton Jr. of Bowling Green; and five grandchildren.
