Gatewood Brown, 83, of Bowling Green died at 3:54 p.m. April 17, 2005, at Commonwealth Specialty Hospital.
The Berea native was founder of Big B Cleaners and a World War II Army veteran. He was a son of the late Ben Brown and Sarah Sally Ogg Brown. He was preceded in death Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, where he was a member, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Lovers Lane chapel, and will begin at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Recreation Outreach Center of First Baptist Church, 621 E. 12th St., Bowling Green, KY 42101.
Survivors include his wife, Eunice Vanwinkle Brown; a son, Barry W. Brown and his wife, Janet Kay, of Bowling Green; a daughter, Carol Spinks and her husband, Steve, of Bowling Green; a brother, Don Brown and his wife, Bonnie, of Frankfort; a sister, Clarice King of Berea; five grandchildren, Wes and Will Brown and Amanda, Audrey and Amelia Spinks, all of Bowling Green; and several nieces and nephews.
