J D Lightfoot, 86, of Bowling Green died at 11:41 a.m. March 10, 2005, at his home.

The Warren County native was an electrician with Holley Carburetor. The Barnes High School graduate was a World War II Army veteran, having served as an airplane maintenance technician for the 565th Bomb Squadron. He enjoyed repairing televisions, lawn mowers and other items for family and friends. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Faith United Methodist Church, where he was a member, Sunday school superintendent, Sunday school teacher and served as a church usher for 43 years, with burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and will be from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Othelle Turner Lightfoot; a son, Randy Lightfoot of Bowling Green; a daughter, Barbara Lightfoot Benek and her husband, John, of Dayton, Ohio; a brother, Curtis Lightfoot and his wife, Betty, of Drake; a sister, Mable Yokley of Franklin; two grandchildren, Brent and Amanda Lightfoot, both of Bowling Green; three nieces; four nephews; and two loving caregivers, Chris Orman and Shirley Shaw.
