Otis Franklin Hood, 73, of Bowling Green died at 3:50 a.m. Feb. 20, 2005, at his home.

The Warren County native was a retired self-employed construction worker and a backhoe operator. Besides raising nine children, he enjoyed wood working and working with his hands. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Bowling Green. He was a son of the late Joseph Henry Hood and Lottie May Long Hood and the husband of the late Theresa Louise Hood. He was preceded in death Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Lovers Lane chapel, with burial in Bowling Green Gardens. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to The American Cancer Society, Greenwood Courtyard, 2425 Scottsville Road, Bowling Green, KY 42014-4457.

Survivors include sons, Ronald Ronnie Hood and his wife, Sabrina, of Smiths Grove, Danny Hood and his wife, Flora, of Alvaton, William Hood and his wife, Candy, and Roger Hood and his wife, Sheila, all of Bowling Green, Larry Wayne Hood and his wife, Doris, of Ansbach, Germany, and Otis Ray Hood and his wife, Jean, of Martinsville, Ind.; daughters, Robin Peck and her husband, Russell, of Sierra Vista, Ariz., Peggy Caudill and her husband, Terry, Diane Pedigo and her husband, Danny, and Patty Jones and her husband, James, all of Bowling Green, Sharon Lanahan of South Port, Ind., and Kathy Hood of Indianapolis; a sister, Christine Miller of Rockfield; two brothers, James and Bill Hood, both of Louisville; 32 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
