Kevin C. Hayes, 43, 1170 Petty Road, was originally charged with three counts of criminal attempt to commit murder, among other charges, after a dispute with his estranged wife escalated outside Tattle Tales Gentlemens Club in the early morning hours of Jan. 30.

According to a Bowling Green Police Department report, Hayes followed his wife to Tattle Tales on Old Louisville Road and waited outside until she and two others exited about 4 a.m.

Hayes approached their car and hit it with his hands, yelling at the women. The women drove around Hayes, at which point he got in his car and drove it into the rear passenger side of the womens vehicle, prompting the women to seek refuge in the bar.

Hayes then attempted a U-turn, hit a parked car and rammed the womens vehicle twice with his car, sending it through the wall of Tattle Tales, according to the report.

Rebecca Hayes, 31, and her friend, Tabitha Hedquist, 21, of Bowling Green escaped before the car was hit. A third person, Janis Herndon, 37, of Bowling Green was still in the back seat and was treated and released from The Medical Center for a head injury and neck and back trauma.

Kevin Hayes also struck a pedestrian, Reginald Browder, 21, of Bowling Green in the left hip before crashing into the wall of Tattle Tales. Browder was also treated and released from The Medical Center.

Prosecutors have recommended a 10-year sentence for Hayes, with final sentencing scheduled Aug. 2.
