The Rev. Donald Valentine is pastor. Dr. C. Wyman Copass of Bowling Green is the new pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Franklin. Copass has been serving the church since Nov. 1 as interim pastor and began his ministry as pastor May 2. He and his wife, Glenda, are natives of Monroe County. They have two grown children. Copass is a graduate of Gamaliel High School, Campbellsville University and Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville and holds a doctorate of ministry degree from Luther Rice Seminary. He has served as pastor of Hillvue Heights Church in Bowling Green, as well as churches in Louisville, Owensboro, Paducah, Omaha, Neb., and Venice, Fla. For the past six years, he has ministered as a full-time Southern Baptist evangelist in 160 churches in 11 different states. Special music The Turner Family and Melody Echoes will sing at 7 p.m. EST June 12 at Jackson Hills General Baptist Church in Shepherdsville. The Turner Family and others will sing at 11 a.m. June 13 for a Brush Arbor Meeting at Full Gospel Church of Assembly in Louisville. The Turner Family and Gospel Envoys will sing at 4 p.m. June 19 at Rough River Dam State Resort in Falls of Rough. The Turner Family will sing at 10 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. July 4 at Red Hill General Baptist Church in Brownsville for homecoming services. An outside gospel singing and fund raiser will be at 4 p.m. June 26 at Gospel Outreach Church in Scottsville. The Turner Family, Roger and Linda Pardue and Graceway Singers will sing. The ninth annual Barren County Ole Time Southern Gospel Singing Reunion will be at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Barren County High School auditorium. About 15 groups will sing and then join others who formerly sang in gospel groups. Admission is free. The Jody Brown Indian Family of Robinsville, N.C., and the Glory Bound Quartet of Glasgow will sing at Temple Baptist Church in Glasgow on Sunday during the 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. services.
