EVANSVILLE, Ind. Ruth Oertwig Ruggier Lampson, 84, of Evansville died May 27, 2004, at her home.She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church at the time of her death. She was a two-term president of the Lutheran Womens Missionary League, taught Adult Bible Class at Trinity Lutheran Church, sang in the church choir and was a member of other organizations. She attended Trinity Lutheran Grade School and graduated from Central High School in 1937. She received a bachelors degree in 1967, a masters degree in 1969 and a counseling certificate, all from the University of Evansville. She began teaching English and business in 1967 for the Evansville-Vanderburgh School Corporation until her retirement. Prior to entering the teaching profession, she worked at George Koch & Sons, Servel Inc. and Mead Johnson & Company. She was past president of Fidelis Alpha Delta Kappa sorority, a member of the Evansville Outing Club and Trail Blazers II Camping Club and was one of six assistant state directors of the AARP and was active two years as president for the West Side Chapter. She was a supporter of the Philharmonic Orchestra, a member of the Evansville Writers Guild and was a past member of the Howell Par 3 Ladies Club. She was a daughter of the late William and Caroline Hoffherr Oertwig and wife of the late Joseph A. Ruggier and the late Howard T. Lampson. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Temme and Helen Oertwig; three brothers, Charles, William and James Oertwig; and a stepson, Thomas Lampson.Funeral will be at noon Thursday at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, with burial in Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Alexander Funeral Home, East chapel, and will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.Survivors include her children, Roderic S. Ruggier of Colorado Springs, Colo., Frederic J. Ruggier and Phyllis R. Ruggier, both of Aurora, Ill., Robert C. Ruggier of Warsaw and Joseph A. Ruggier II of Evansville; stepchildren, Barbara L. Nicholls of Dallas, Nancy L. Priest of Bowling Green, Ky., Susan L. George of New Canaan, Conn., and James Lampson of Detroit; grandchildren, Courtney, Sean, Ashley and Lauren Ruggier; a great-granddaughter, Camille Ruggier; stepgrandchildren, Heather Deaton, Cravens and Park Priest, Douglas and Grant George and Colin and Brett Lampson; six great-stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  Daily News ·813 College St. ·PO Box 90012 ·Bowling Green, KY ·42102 ·270-781-1700
