Insight broadband customers without Internet service for a time

Insight Communication broadband customers had to have their morning coffee today without an Internet fix.The service was down to all broadband customers, but was expected to be restored by noon today.What we are doing is a recombining project, where we go through and evaluate all of our users who have service and look at how much use is occurring on each line. If some have more traffic than others, we are trying to put them somewhere else, said Rick Williams, Insight general manager.We sent customers a notice of this last week that it was going to occur, Williams said. It is just taking slightly longer than promised.The switches, which required the service to be down, began at midnight and had been expected to be back on by 8 a.m.Obviously we are an hour and half past that now, Williams said. But we expect that it will be back up very soon.After the changes, some customers will notice that their Internet speed has increased, he said.
