MUNFORDVILLE Franklin Delano Wood, 73, of Edmonton died at 10:30 p.m. EST Dec. 24, 2004, at his home.

The Upton native was a retired chief warrant officer and a retired Navy civil servant with 42 years serving his country he loved so dearly. He received the Meritorious Service Award for 40 years of service. He was a graduate of Baptist College in Charleston, S.C., with a bachelors degree in physics and degrees in electrical and mechanical engineering earned while serving in the Navy. He was a son of the late William Jennings Wood and Alberta Renfro Wood. He was preceded in death Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Brooks Funeral Home, with burial in Upton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and will begin at 8 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia May Buzga Wood; five sons, Frank Leroy Wood and his wife, Lori, William Thomas Wood and Mark Dennis Wood, all of Moncks Corner, S.C., and Michael Wood and Paul Douglas Wood, both of Tampa, Fla.; a daughter, Catherine Elizabeth Ware of Moncks Corner; two stepdaughters, Deanna Lynn Sanders and her husband, Kelly, of Potomac, Md., and April Lynn Rhodes and her husband, Charles, of Burtonsville, Md.; four sisters, Aileen Hager of Magnolia, Frances Sheffield and Betty Willard, both of Louisville, and Doris Berry of Munfordville; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.  Daily News ·813 College St. ·PO Box 90012 ·Bowling Green, KY ·42102 ·270-781-1700
