GLASGOW Herbert Lee Hub Pursley, 82, and Geneva Traylor Pursley, 80, died Nov. 2, 2004, as a result of injuries suffered in an automobile accident in Barren County. Mrs. Pursley died at the scene of the accident and Mr. Pursley died later at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
Hub, as he was known to his friends, was the former superintendent of the Glasgow Water Co. and chairman of the state Board of Health for Water Certification in Frankfort. He also taught sanitation engineering for the Environmental Protection Agency and was a World War II veteran. Geneva was a wonderful mother and housewife and his loving companion of 63 years, an anniversary they celebrated in May. They were members of East Main Street United Methodist Church.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.

They are survived together Geneva is survived by two sisters, Mabel Traylor Peden of Glasgow and Izene Traylor Mackey of Daytona Beach, Fla.; and seven nieces and nephews, Nikki P. Norman of Orlando, Fla., Jerry Mackey, David Mackey, Steve Mackey, Darla M. Decker, Linda M. Warren and Dianne M. Lowery, all of Florida and Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents, Teller Traylor and Lennie Robert Janes Traylor.
Hub is survived by a sister, Pauline Pursley Wells of Gallatin, Tenn.; a brother, Harry Bryant Pursley of Glasgow; and several nieces and nephews, Lougene Wells Sims, Phillip Pursley, Carla P. Jones, Tommy Tipton, Joyce T. Kohl, Garland Pursley, Penny Pursley, Roxanne P. Cirracco, Connie P. Lyons and Shelia P. Bunch. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joshua Sherman Pursley and Mattie Mora Stringfield Pursley; two sisters, Virginia P. Tipton and Lougene Pursley; and four brothers, James Robert Pursley, the Rev. Elmer Garland Pursley, Haskel Clay Pursley and Donald Ray Pursley.
