OWENSBORO Dr. R. Scott Havener, 35, of Bowling Green died at 9:18 p.m. June 29, 2003, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.The Daviess County native was a staff member of Graves-Gilbert Clinic in Bowling Green, a Navy lieutenant, a Catholic, a summa cum laude graduate of Western Kentucky University, a graduate of the University of Louisville Medical School with a doctorate degree, and did his residency training at the National Naval Medical Center where he remained on staff after completing his residency. He was a son of Robert G. Havener of Owensboro and Ann Havener of Rockport, Ind., who survive. He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael L. Havener.Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Blessed Mother Catholic Church with burial in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Rockport, Ind. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home with prayer service at 6 p.m. today.Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Heart Association, Ohio Valley Affiliate, P.O. Box 182039, Dept. 013, Columbus, OH 43218-2039. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.Survivors include his wife, Dr. Hope Havener; a son, Benjamin Grant Havener of Bowling Green; a brother, Eric Havener of Richland, Ind.; four nephews, Dylon, Andrew, Zayne and Mason Havener; and a niece, Maddison Havener.
