WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, Ohio Philip Edward Binzel, M.D., 76, of Washington Court House died June 6, 2003, at his home.The Bowling Green, Ky., native received a bachelor of science degree from Western Kentucky University and a medical doctor degree from St. Louis University in 1953, served his residency at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, ran a family medical practice, was on the executive committee of the council of the John Birch Society, served on the Washington Court House City Council, was a World War II Navy veteran; authored the book, Alive and Well One Doctors Experience with Nutrition in the Treatment of Cancer Patients; and was a member of St. Gertrude the Great Roman Catholic Church in Cincinnati and the Ohio Academy of General Practice. He was a son of the late Philip Edward Binzel Sr. and Rucie Miller and husband of the late Elizabeth Ann Betty Hasslacher Binzel. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Beatrice and Betty.Requiem Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Gertrude the Great Roman Catholic Church, 11144 Reading Road, Cincinnati, with a private burial in St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Cemetery in Washington Court House. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Kirkpatrick Funeral Home.Survivors include six children, Mary Black of Indianapolis, Edward C. Binzel and wife, Diane, of Dublin, Kathleen Bringardner and husband, Dr. Timothy, of Gettysburg, Pa., William P. Binzel and wife, Lisa, of Alexandria, Va.; Dr. Richard P. Binzel and wife, Dr. Michelle, of Lexington, Mass., and Nancy Pierce and husband, Larry, of Stow; a sister, Gloria May and husband, Philip, of Jacksonville, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Peter J. and Katie Hasslacher of Mesa, Ariz.; and a sister-in-law, Carol Luders of Old Greenwich, Conn.
