Waller B. AlexanderWaller Beck Alexander, 79, of Bowling Green died at 7 p.m. March 4, 2003, at his home. Funeral arrangements, which are incomplete, are under the direction of Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green chapel. Virginia AlveyVirginia Patty Ann Alvey, 48, of Bowling Green died at 11:27 a.m. March 4, 2003, at The Medical Center. The Bowling Green native was a retired Salvation Army Thrift Store manager and a volunteer and member of The Salvation Army. She was a daughter of the late Henry Hampton Skaggs and Mamie Basham Skaggs. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home with burial in Fairview Cemetery No. 2. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Survivors include her husband, Darrell Alvey; two sons, Dewayne Alvey and Curtis Alvey, both of Bowling Green; three stepsons, Roger McKeown of Hardinsburg, Tim Williams of Auburn and Jeremy Williams of Bowling Green; two daughters, Dorothy Alvey and Peggy Alvey Trejo, both of Bowling Green; two stepdaughters, Jenny Fleenor and Jamie Cherry, both of Bowling Green; two brothers, Jimmy Skaggs and James H. Skaggs, both of Bowling Green; six sisters, CarLyon Shirley and Loretta Kitchens, both of Glasgow, Rosetta Guess of Cresco, Iowa, Janie Bumpus and Dorothy Powell, both of Bowling Green, and Nelda Dorman of Richardsville; 13 grandchildren, Steven Alvey, Andrew Alvey, Stephanie Raymer, C.J. Alvey, Michael Alvey, Jacob Alvey, Mark Alvey, Kayla Alvey, Courtney Alvey, Hailey Alvey, Hunter Alvey, Dennis Alvey and Alex Trejo Jr.; eight stepgrandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Carline BlankenshipSCOTTSVILLE Carline Cotton Blankenship, 81, of Scottsville died at 4:00 a.m. March 4, 2003, at his residence. The Allen County native was a retired employee of Martin Wood Lumber Co. and a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. He was a son of the late Henry Virgil and Willie Frances Bridges Blankenship. He was preceded in death by two sons, Billy Ray Blankenship and Dennis Reed Blankenship, and two brothers, Arnold B. Blankenship and Henderson Blankenship. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Goad Funeral Home with burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home. EmmittGary Eugene Emmitt, 50, of Smiths Grove died at 7:48 p.m. March 4, 2003, on U.S. 68-Ky. 80 as a result of injuries suffered in an automobile accident. Granger, 92, of Louisville died March 4, 2003.Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Bates Memorial Baptist Church, where he was a member, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at the church. A.D. Porter & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include two brothers, V.K. Granger of Louisville and Roy D. Granger of Toledo, Ohio; a sister, Zula Potter of Bowling Green; and several nieces and nephews. Raymond HarmonRaymond Harmon, 82, of Bowling Green died at 2:30 a.m. March 4, 2003, at a Bowling Green nursing home. The Boyce native was a World War II veteran, a retired Warren County school bus driver and was retired from the Army. He was the son of the late Henry Harmon and Media Harmon and husband of the late Geneva Martin Harmon. Graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Green Briar Old Liberty Cemetery in Boyce. HinesHarriette Settle Hines, 72, of Bowling Green died at 10:55 p.m. March 4, 2003, at Alive Hospice in Nashville. The Bowling Green native was a graduate of Bowling Green High School, attended Western Kentucky University, where she was a member of En Amie, was active in the Bowling Green Girls Club, past-president of Bowling Green Jaycee-ettes, a member and former Sunday school teacher at Christ Episcopal Church, and a member of Chatauqua Literary and Scientific Circle and Phi Mu Sorority. She was a daughter of the late Simon DeWitt Settle and Florence Vivion Tuck Settle and wife of the late John Pipe Hines. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shelly Hines May. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Christ Episcopal Church with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Lovers Lane chapel. The Daviess County native was a retired Bell South employee, a World War II Army veteran, a member of Third Baptist Church, a charter member of Lewis Lane Baptist Church and a past member of the Jaycees. The Warren County native was a retired postal clerk, former owner of Olivers Used Cars, and a member of American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Moose Lodge, Kentucky National Guard and Andrew Baptist Church. He was a son of James Bill Oliver and Norene Miller May, both of Bowling Green, who survive. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Lovers Lane chapel, with burial in Bowling Green Gardens. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Ronnie WallaceRonnie Wallace, 59, of Bowling Green died March 4, 2003, at The Medical Center. The Warren County native was a former employee at Lords Kinetic and Cresent Electronics and manager of Camp Joy Baptist Assembly in Brownsville. He was a son of the late Jefferson Davis and Pearl Ann Palmer Wallace. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Hillvue Heights Church, where he was a member, with burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the church.
