Roosevelt Johnson, 61, of Bowling Green died at 3:03 a.m. Nov. 29, 2003, at his home.The Warren County native was a member of Cowles Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, former member of the churchs trustee board, a retired Warren County Sheriffs Deputy for 21 years, a retired Bowling Green Independent School bus driver for 23 years and a self-employed contractor. He was a son of the late Lee E. Johnson and Naomi Mattie Elliott Johnson.Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Oakland Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Oakland. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Gatewood & Sons Funeral Chapel and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline Starks Johnson; a son, Michael Kee Johnson and his wife, Dorthea, of Bowling Green; a grandson, Michael Christopher Johnson of Bowling Green; a brother, William Earl Johnson and his wife, Mary, of Kokomo, Ind.; four sisters, Sue Ella Gatewood and Mary Jo Johnson, both of Bowling Green, Ada Mae Ford of Ellenwood, Ga., and Mamie Delia Wardlow and her husband, Frank, of Oakland; a mother-in-law, Bessie Fishback of Bowling Green; three brothers-in-law, Albert C. Starks and his wife, Martha, of Louisville, James Fishback and his wife, Mary, and the Rev. Warner Fishback and his wife, Charlie May, of Oakland; three sisters-in-law, Marilyn Shobe and her husband, Harvey of Bowling Green, Blanche Shobe and her husband, Gilbert, and Clester Bowman and her husband, Steve; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
