SCOTTSVILLE Gary Gowins, 59, of Scottsville died at 3:18 p.m. Aug. 4, 2002, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. The Metropolis, Ill., native was a deputy jailer for the Allen County Detention Center and a member of Allen County Scottsville Fraternal Order of Police No. 36. He was a son of the late Freeman Gowins and Lula Gowins. He was preceded in death by a stepson, Chuckie Henson. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Goad Funeral Home. The body will be cremated. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. Survivors include his wife, Georgine Gowins; a brother, Robert Gowins of Calvert City; and several nieces and nephews. Edward W. HarlowGLASGOW Edward Wesley Harlow, 67, of Glasgow died Aug. 3, 2002, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. The Barren County native was a wiring technician for several telephone companies. He was a son of the late Willard C. Harlow and Pauline McGlocklin Harlow. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. Survivors include a son, Wesley Dewayne Harlow of Ohio; four daughters, Connie Irene Harlow, Helen Michelle Harlow and Catherine Harlow, all of Ohio, and Starr Jean Harden of Sikeston, Mo.; two brothers, W.C. Harlow Jr. of California and Richard Dickie Harlow of Glasgow; a sister, Doris E. Bishop of Glasgow; and three grandchildren.
